Korea has more than 400 inhabited islands, connected by coastal ferries. That information is, in practice, only available in Korean — the booking systems are built for domestic residents. KoreaIsles exists to close that gap.
What this covers
2,957 scheduled ferry routes serving 308 islands, organised by departure port. For each route: departure times, crossing duration, fare, and how often it runs.
What this is not
KoreaIsles does not sell tickets. Booking is handled by the official operators, and this site links out to them. It handles no payment details and has no accounts.
Where the data comes from
- Schedules and fares — Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, domestic vessel operation information (data.go.kr 15098523)
- Island coordinates — Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries inhabited-island dataset (15148871) and Korea Tourism Organization TourAPI
- Photographs — Korea Tourism Organization, PhotoKorea (KOGL Type 1)
- Coastline — Natural Earth (public domain)

On accuracy
Schedules and fares come from public APIs and change with the season and the weather. Service frequency is what was observed across a short sample of days — it is not a rule. Where a fare could not be verified, the field is left empty rather than estimated: a wrong fare is worse than no fare. Always confirm with the operator before you travel.
