Anjwado

About the island

Anjwado Island is an island better known by the name Purple Island.

Every spring, it hosts a lavender festival, and in the autumn, an aster chrysanthemum festival takes place, painting the island in shades of purple.

With village roofs adorned in purple and the purple sea bridge, visitors can enjoy the color purple throughout the seasons.

Additionally, the Birth Home of Kim Whanki (1913-1974), a famous Korean abstract artist, is located here.
