About the island
Gasado Island is a island with sixteen subsidiary islands centered around the main island.
It is renowned for its beautiful sunset viewed from hanok in Dolmok Village and Dolmok Beach.
It was an area where silica mines were operated in Japanese colonial period, and remnants of mines and caves can still be found across the island.
As the third-largest island in Jindo, its residents are mainly engaged in brown seaweed cultivation.
